Gold Medal Top Sellers Trip To Doha

Posted on: Friday 10th March 2023 by Lily Hall

In conjunction with Gold Medal, Qatar Airways & Qatar Tourism, The Travel Village Group sent several top sellers and some of the senior management team on an incredible trip to Doha, Qatar. The team flew out to Doha on 2nd March and checked into their hotel, the InterContinental Doha Beach.

The team were introduced to a variety of must-do Qatar experiences. This included lunch at the iconic NED Hotel, before exploring a range of museums; 3-2-1 Olympic Sports Museum, & The National Museum of Qatar. An indulgent evening visit to the Souq Waqif, with dinner at Parisa Souq Waqif, was a highlight.

Explorations included Lusail City for a guided tour followed by a site inspection and lunch at the Waldorf Astoria Lusail.  One of their most exciting excursions entailed an unforgettable sunset jeep safari into the desert to discover the Dunes & Inland Sea with camp access. The night was completed with a late night sunset in the Persian Gulf & an amazing dinner at Regency Sealine Camp.

The group enjoyed the incredible facilities of a second hotel, the Hilton Salwa Beach resort on the West Coast, and sauntered down to the Dante Restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, there was free time to enjoy the amazing Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park.

After hearing about this incredible trip, we asked our team to share their trip highlights. This is what they had to say:

“As part of our company values we wanted to reward and recognise our top sellers. Our partnership with Gold Medal & Qatari Tourism enabled us to really offer them a once in a lifetime much deserved luxury trip. The 5 days spent together completely changed their perception of Qatar and many said they would love to come back and would highly recommend it as winter break for their customers.”

John Warr MBA, Group Managing Director

“Doha is the world’s best kept secret. Everything is amazing, the food, hotels, restaurants, beaches, luxury, culture and more importantly, the people! Doha isn’t just a stop-off destination on your way elsewhere, it has an abundance of amazing amenities. Cannot wait to go back”.

Paula Nuttall, Director

“I had a great experience in Doha! From the get go, the service was incredible. We were upgraded by Qatar Airways and experienced the Q Suites. I loved the Dune Safari, after being a little nervous the excursion was made perfect by the wonderful sunset we witnessed whilst having dinner on the coast. It was truly magical. I enjoyed seeing how diverse Qatar is, there is so much to do. The 3-2-1 Sports Museum was really interesting, they had the bobsleigh from the Cool Runnings movie!

The Souk is the place to be on a night! It feels very safe and everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Not to mention, the food! I felt very privileged and spoiled on this trip and loved spending time with my amazing colleagues”.

I’ve recently been lucky enough to travel to a new, upcoming destination Qatar! The image I had painted in my mind was lots of desert, baron land with building work. How wrong was I? The city of Doha is very vibrant with amazing buildings and architecture. The Qataris are so friendly and smiley and everywhere is very clean and safe. If you’re looking for an alternative to Dubai, with a cultural experience Doha is definitely worth a look, especially for some winter sunshine.

TOP TIP: The desert jeep safari is a must do, as well as a trip to the Souk.

If you’re looking to push the boat out for a special occasion Qatar Airways do Business the best! My first experience of turning left won’t ever be topped!
