August 2023 Charity Challenge: Night Run

August Charity Challenge

Well, we hope everyone is well rested from July’s hiatus from a physical challenge, because August is here and we’re supporting our local charity!

Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice both provide palliative care to the people most in need, on the Fylde Coast. At the Travel Village we’ve seen, firsthand, the care, dignity and inspiration provided by the wonderful souls at the services. On 30th August 2023 members of our team will be taking on Trinity Hospice’s Night Run; a 7.5km run along Blackpool’s Promenade under the Blackpool Illuminations (before they open to car traffic!).

We’ll be fundraising for the hospices in memory of our friends, family and colleagues, who have sadly passed during their time at Trinity.

Jess Clayton says:

For some of the team, training is underway… running certainly isn’t like second nature to me, so I’ve been getting back on the road with the C25K programme. I should have graduated in the week before the run, and completed a 5km run without stopping. I’m hoping to push myself to complete the full 7.5km without stopping, but we’ll see what happens on the night. The charity is one that’s so close to the hearts of the team at TVG, especially those based at our HQ, so I’m just happy to be able to get out there and help contribute to fundraising efforts. Super proud of the team that are putting themselves for the challenge.

The team includes Jenny Higgins, Jess Clayton, Jess Nuttall, Lewis Johnston, Richard Cross, John, Warr, Layna McMoran, Carolyn Markey, Charlotte Wheeler, Debbie Bruton, and Alison Swallow. Hopefully we’ll have some additional late entries too!
