Travel Village Group voted “Best Place to Work in Travel” in the UK!
Ever wondered where the best place to work in travel is? As a result of independent and anonymous survey results from our agents, HQ team members and Senior Leadership Team, the Travel Village Group was shortlisted for the “Best Workplaces In Travel 2022” awards (Medium size category sponsored by Finn Partners).
The inaugural award ceremony was held in London, on 4th May 2022, and celebrated businesses who have worked hard to put people first over the last few difficult years. We’re proud to reveal that the Travel Village Group picked up the top award for medium sized business, and Phil had a few words to say:
I have never felt so humbled in my 38 year career in travel. This award is voted by the people in our 64 year old 4th Generation family business and to win the Medium size business category is just incredible.
It just shows you that in the darkest hours you must never forget the people around you who have made the business what it is.
So many businesses just removed people from their businesses in the hope they could re employ on more “owner favourable” contracts rather than use Furlough – well that worked didn’t it…not!
Me and my wife Paula made personal use of the CBILS government backed loan to keep our team together, financially support many of our team through the toughest parts of the pandemic and to try and keep acceptable levels of customer service in unprecedented times.
Yes, we have to pay this back, but that’s nothing compared to coming out of the pandemic with our team almost 100% intact and a travel business that is experiencing substantial growth.
