Travel with a little more thought.
Travel has an impact. We believe the choices we make around it matter.

Travel gives us the opportunity to experience different places, cultures and communities. It creates jobs, supports local economies and allows us to see parts of the world we might otherwise never experience.
But travel has an impact too.
Doing Travel Better is our commitment to thinking more carefully about that impact and making informed, thoughtful decisions wherever we can.
It isn’t about telling people how they should travel. And it isn’t about pretending there’s a perfect way to see the world.
It’s about recognising that all of us – as a travel business, as an industry and as travellers – can be a little more conscious of the choices we make
What does Doing Travel Better mean?
For us, it means looking at the parts of travel where we can genuinely make a difference.
That starts within our own business, from reducing unnecessary paper and reviewing our day-to-day operations, to improving the knowledge we give our teams.
It also means looking beyond our own four walls.
We’re considering the travel experiences and products we sell, working with our supplier partners, following recognised industry guidance and helping our customers access useful information when making their own holiday choices.
We won’t always get everything right. Doing Travel Better is about continuing to learn, asking better questions and improving what we do over time.

Better informed. Better choices.

For our customers
We want to make it easier to consider the impact of some of the choices you make while travelling.
That doesn’t mean giving up the things that make a holiday special.
It could be choosing a family-run restaurant, taking public transport to explore a city, carrying a reusable water bottle, respecting local customs or simply taking a little more time to understand a wildlife experience before booking it.
Small decisions can help support the places and communities that make our holidays possible.

For our business
Doing Travel Better also means looking at ourselves.
We’ve identified key areas where we believe Travel Village Group can take practical action, including how we operate, how we support and educate our people, the products and experiences we sell, the suppliers we work with and how we measure our progress.
Our approach is guided by recognised industry standards, including ABTA’s Sustainability Guidance, and we’ll continue reviewing it as the travel industry develops.
Animal welfare matters too
Seeing wildlife can be one of the most memorable parts of travelling, but the experience should never come at the expense of the animal.
We’re developing our approach to animal welfare using recognised ABTA guidance, while helping our teams make more informed decisions about the experiences we sell.
Our internal guidance encourages wildlife observation without feeding or direct contact, alongside conservation and rehabilitation-focused experiences. It also highlights experiences we would prefer not to book, including activities involving captive cetaceans, direct contact with wild or exotic animals and animals used primarily for entertainment.
It’s another area where we know we won’t have control over everything. What we can do is ask questions, provide guidance and make considered choices where we have influence.
